Creating your statue step by step
Step 1) We discuss the kind of image you want and the price via any of the social media I am active on. You will be expected to pay at least half of the price we agree on via PayPal or onto my bank account. The commission starts whenever you are ready.
Step 2) When first half of the commission has been payed, I create a first sketch of the statue.
Step 3) As soon as you approve the sketch, I begin working on the clay. I start with a lump of clay which gains form and definition as I work. You will get updates with photos on a daily basis
Step 4) While the statue rests for 10 to 14 days until it is dry, we discuss the coloration and the shipping arrangements. As soon as the statue is dry, I assemble (if it is more than one piece) and prepare the next and most crucial step.
Step 5) When the statue is completely dry I prepare the kiln to fire it. The process takes 8-12 hours of constant firing in which i tend to the fire and take care that the temperature increases gradually and remains constant when sufficiently high.
Step 6) When the statue is fired and whole, I paint it with the exact colors you and patterns you requested. This offers great opportunity to even adjust the coloration of the statue.
Step 8) The shellac dries overnight and I prepare the packaging and shipping arrangements. The shipping, packaging, customs, transaction fees, and any additional costs are going are included in the final bill.
Step 7) I apply a sealing coat of shellac which makes it waterproof. Here the statue is technically complete and you will be asked to pay for the other half of the commission.
Step 9) I pack the statues with the utmost care with either newspapers or in liquid foam (depending on your wish and budget). The statue will take between 2 and 4 weeks to arrive.
