About: Sokar is an ancient Egyptian deity associated with funerary practices and the afterlife. He is often depicted as a falcon-headed man with an atef crown on his head. Sokar was particularly revered in the Memphis region of Egypt, where he was considered one of the principal gods.As a god of the afterlife, Sokar was closely linked with the necropolis of Memphis and with the process of mummification. He was believed to preside over the realm of the dead, ensuring the safe passage of souls into the afterlife and protecting them during their journey. Sokar was also associated with rebirth and regeneration, symbolizing the cyclical nature of life and death.
