Extra large size terracotta statue of the mystical funerary god Ptah-Sokar-Osiris. Dark wood colouration, acrylic, copper and gold accents, crown topped with 4 sun disks: 3 carnelian and 1 sun stone.

About: Ptah-Sokar-Osiris is a composite deity in ancient Egyptian religion, combining aspects of three important gods: Ptah, Sokar, and Osiris. Ptah-Sokar-Osiris represents the synthesis of these three deities into a single entity, embodying aspects of creation, death, resurrection, and the afterlife. This composite deity was particularly venerated in funerary contexts, where he played a crucial role in guiding the deceased through the underworld and ensuring their rebirth and eternal existence. The cult of Ptah-Sokar-Osiris was prominent in ancient Egyptian religion, especially during the New Kingdom period, when funerary beliefs and rituals became increasingly elaborate. Temples dedicated to Ptah-Sokar-Osiris were built in Memphis and other major cities, where priests conducted rituals and ceremonies to honor the deity and ensure the well-being of the deceased in the afterlife.
This particular statue was central to my shrine for years and now I feel like I have to let it go in order to spread his cult out into the world. This god will always remain important to me and shall receive more images in the future.
